INDUSTRIAL DESIGN PORTFOLIO
OUTLINES
MAGAZINE DESIGN
Role - I have been on the Outlines team since its conception in 2022. For the 2024-2025 edition of Outlines, I am taking on the role of Editor-In-Chief, leading a group of 20+ students to a final magazine publication.
Concept - Outlines' intent is to create a platform, exploring and expanding the conversation around industrial design. Created and designed by students of industrial design, we aim to connect emerging designers, our surrounding design community, as well as those curious about the field. Through annual publications we inspire our readers to continue sharing their appreciation for design in everyday life.
Application - Through this extracurricular, I’ve developed my skills in Adobe Creative Suite, learned how to manage a team and communicate effectively with external publishing partners.

ORRIS
CANDLE AMPLIFIER
Concept - In an age of automation and algorithm-driven life, many are seeking to reconnect with slower, more intentional ways of living. This design acts as a modern lighting device that naturally amplifies candlelight, preserving its warmth and intimacy without reliance on electricity.
Result - Three tealight candles rest in the ceramic base, casting light onto an aluminum shade, which reflects and diffuses it into the surrounding space. Inspired by the resourceful architectural style of Tatooine in Star Wars, it is a statement on how past technologies can be reused to align with sustainability, and mindfulness.
Applications - Through this project, I developed my skills in 3D rendering as well as experimenting with sustainable integration and bridging historical context with modern needs.

PROCESS

Proof of Concept - I tested my theory by rotating a piece of aluminum around a 3-wick candle. The light reflected off the metal and brightened its surrounding environement.

Ideation - Beyond function, the form also needed to reflect sustainability through both materials and design language. Inspiration was drawn from Star Wars’ Tatooine, where durable objects are crafted from limited resources. To come to the chosen profile, I overlaid three iconic doors from Star Wars to find a pattern I loved.

User Scenario - The metal shade pivots for easy candle placement and adjustment, allowing users to direct the amplified light. Once lit, the candles create a warm, ambient glow for a cozy atmosphere. The metal shade requires cleaning to remove the soot after use, adding another level of mindfulness to this design.
BLUEM DESIGN
JEWELRY BUISNESS
Concept - What began as a hobby—designing handmade jewelry for friends and family—has grown into a small business that I’ve maintained and expanded over the past three years. Since 2023, I’ve been selling my pieces at Happy Goat Glebe.
Result - Bluem Design is a small jewelry practice specializing in ceramic hand-painted charms and beads inspired by Delftware and Portuguese pottery. Bluem consciously uses beads that are either sourced from a local family bead store or repurposed from thrifted jewelry to keep materials in circulation.
Application - As demand has grown, I’ve refined my designs for better efficiency and manufacturability. Through experimentation and testing, I’ve developed the best methods for producing my jewelry while maintaining quality and craftsmanship.

MERCH DESIGN
Concept - For a merch competition in my program, my goal was to design a sweatshirt that I hoped would stand out by connecting to students through a clever, relatable joke.
Result - I won the merch design competition and now I see my design on student's backs everyday as i walk around campus.
Application - Through this I have expanded my proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite.
